If you’re unfamiliar with the name Danny Jones, then you’re probably not an avid reader of the national sports news. Last month, on May 3rd, international Rugby League player Jones hit the headlines when he passed away due to a heart issue during a match.
The tragedy has spurred internationally respected vocal group Tenors of Rock into action, releasing a new version of the timeless Dire Straits track ‘Brothers in Arms’, with all profits going directly to Jones’ wife and twin daughters. Danny Jones was just 29 and in the prime of his career, something which clearly hit home hard in the hearts and minds of The Tenors of Rock.
The group, who have toured the globe thanks to their huge, multinational fanbase, will be returning to Britain next month to play Aberdare Coliseum on Friday 19th June and London’s Hippodrome on 20th June. A fantastic live proposition, with their layered harmonies and tight performances, we suggest you go along if you can. If you can’t make that, then we strongly suggest you download a copy of the track (snippet) above from iTunes to support a good cause.
